Kathleen Rohde would like the recipes for two pastries that are popular in Chicago. Both are made with yeast doughs. One is for twists, which are twisted pieces of dough about 6 inches long that are glazed or dusted with granulated sugar. The other is for "long johns," which are rectangular pastries with a light sugar glaze.

• Hot-Dog Slaw
Reid Warren is looking for a recipe for the hot-dog slaw served years ago at the former Dine In Car at the corner of Liberty Street and Akron Drive. He recalls it as a mayonnaise-based slaw that's a little sweet.
